Australian Consumer Law Notice:
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits conferred by the Honda MPE Warranty are in addition to all other rights and remedies in respect of the product (or service) which you have under the Australian Consumer Law and any other law in relation to those goods and services.
1. Terms and Conditions:
1.1. This warranty is provided by Honda Australia Motorcycle and Power Equipment Pty. Ltd (ACN 006 662 862) of Level 4/6 Gladstone Street Moonee Ponds VIC 3039 (Honda MPE)
1.2. Honda MPE warrants all new Honda marine equipment (Products) to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for the applicable periods below (Honda MPE Warranty):

1.3. The Honda MPE Warranty applies only to new Products imported by Honda MPE and sold through an authorised Honda MPE dealer.
1.4. Not all repairs, adjustments and replacements are the result of defects in material or workmanship. There are other circumstances beyond the control of the manufacturer that might require you to visit to your authorised Honda MPE service centre. These circumstances include: varying weather and atmospheric conditions, fair wear and tear, improper usage of the Product.
1.5. Honda MPE's liability under the Honda MPE Warranty is limited, at the option of Honda MPE, to the repair or replacement of faulty components or parts or payment for such repair or replacement, or to the re-supply of services or payment for such re-supply.
1.6. The Honda MPE Warranty is only applicable whilst the Product is within the States and Territories of Australia. In this document, references to "you" and "your" are references to the Product owner.
1.7. Any authorised Honda MPE dealer will repair or replace any part which proves defective within the limits of the Honda MPE Warranty at no charge to the owner for replacement parts and labour.
1.8. All defective parts replaced under the Honda MPE Warranty become the property of Honda MPE.
1.9. We recommend that you use an authorised Honda MPE dealer for servicing. Authorised Honda MPE dealers have access to all of the special tools and training required to maintain your Product in peak operating condition.
1.10. You are free to have your Product serviced by any suitably qualified technician and this will not affect your statutory warranties. However, if you choose not to have the Product serviced at an authorised Honda dealer, or you choose not to service the Product according to the recommended servicing schedule, you cannot claim under the Honda MPE Warranty.
2. How to Claim Under Honda MPE Warranty
2.1. Repairs within the limits of this Honda MPE Warranty will be carried out free of charge by any authorised Honda MPE dealer. You must bring your Product to an authorised Honda MPE dealer. 2.2. Under this Honda MPE Warranty, all costs of transporting the Product either to or from the authorised Honda MPE dealer (including but not limited to travel expenses, lost time, or pickup and delivery) are the responsibility of the Product owner. In some instances you may have additional rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
2.3. In order to claim under the Honda MPE Warranty, you must:
2.3.1. bring the Sales Registration Form. If this Sales Registration Form is lost or destroyed, Honda MPE may, at its sole discretion, accept other proof of purchase documentation which clearly records the Product’s engine or unit serial number;
2.3.2. maintain the Product according to the schedule contained in the relevant owners’ manual (supplied with the Product);
2.3.3. carry out all required servicing at an authorised Honda MPE dealer, and
2.3.4. keep a record of all services and maintenance. Honda MPE may require proof the Product has been serviced according to schedule before agreeing to repair the Product under this Honda MPE Warranty.
2.4. Where no proof of purchase documentation is available and Honda MPE does not have any record of the purchaser details the Honda MPE Warranty period shall be calculated from the wholesale date of the unit to the authorised Honda dealer.
3. Cancellation of Honda MPE Warranty
If a Product is recorded on an Australian State or Territory’s Written-Off Vehicles Register, Honda MPE may cancel this Honda MPE Warranty at any time with immediate effect.
4. Transfer of Honda MPE Warranty
4.1. Subsequent purchaser(s) of the Product may obtain the benefit of any unexpired portion of this Honda MPE Warranty provided:
4.1.1 for Honda Marine products, an authorised Honda MPE dealer submits a completed warranty transfer form to Honda MPE within 10 days or 10 hours of operation from the change of ownership, whichever occurs first; and,
4.1.2. an authorised Honda MPE dealer has certified the required maintenance specified in the Owner’s Manual has been performed by an authorised Honda MPE dealer and that the unit has not been subject to abuse or damage.
4.2. The subsequent owner will be subject to all of the provisions, limitations and exclusions of this Honda MPE Warranty.
4.3. If a Product which was originally sold for a commercial purpose is later resold for private or domestic use, the Honda MPE Warranty period remaining is the period for commercial use.
4.4. Please note: New copies of the Owner’s Warranty and Service Policy Manual will not be supplied for second hand vehicles. The original booklet must accompany the vehicle.
5. What is Not Covered by Honda MPE Warranty
5.1. General Exclusions
The Honda MPE Warranty does not cover the following:
• Deterioration due to normal use, fair wear and tear or exposure, unless due to a defect in workmanship or material;
• Normal maintenance items including but not limited to adjustment and cleaning of carburettor, fuel strainer, oil & air filter, cables, brake components, intake valves, exhaust valves, clutches and serviceable bearings;
• Normal replacements of service items including but not limited to spark plugs, air & oil filters, cutting blades, tyres, batteries brake pads, brake shoes, lightbulbs, fuses, clutch components and serviceable bearings;
• Any part that has been subject to misuse, negligence, accidental damage, improper or inadequate maintenance, or improper storage;
• Repair rendered necessary or arising from the use of other than genuine Honda parts;
• Any work or adjustment performed by persons other than authorised Honda dealers or damage from that work or adjustment;
• Any damage that results from operating methods other than those indicated in the owner's manual, or use beyond the limitations or specifications as published by Honda MPE;
• Honda MPE is not liable under this Honda MPE Warranty for any indirect loss, cost, expense or damage incurred by an owner while a Product is being repaired under this Honda MPE Warranty (including but not limited to travel expenses, lost time, or pickup and delivery). In some instances you may have additional rights under the Australian Consumer Law;
5.2. Specific Exclusions – Honda Marine Exclusions
In addition to the general exclusions at 5.1 above, the Honda MPE Warranty does not cover the following:
• Use of the Products for racing or competition, racing or record attempts, or equipped with a sports kit, even if Honda MPE supplies the kit;
• Any deterioration or damage caused by incorrect propeller selection;
• Corrosion due to lack of engine flushing after operation, failure to replace anodes when required, or other preventative maintenance;
• Damage or deterioration caused by water intrusion or fuel contamination;
• Any problems related to the product not having the required 150mm static water clearance.
