FOUR-STROKE DESIGN

EASY ONE HAND STARTING

• Working together, a built-in decompression release and digital CDI system set the ignition timing during start-up. Greatly reduces the effort required to pull-start the engine by hand!

PGM IGNITION

• A reliable microprocessor accurately controls ignition timing during startup and across the entire rpm range, providing optimum overall operation.

POSITIVE LUBRICATION

• A crankshaft-driven, automotive-style trochoid oil pump ensures critical engine component long-term durability.

HIGH OUTPUT CHARGING

• 2amp at 1000rpm and a 6amp at 3000rpm to maintain the battery charge and keep electronics going, even at trolling speeds.

PENDULUM MOUNT SYSTEM

• Honda’s exclusive triangulated rubber mount system absorbs vibration and provides unbelievably smooth operation.

OVERHEAT MODE

• Protects the engine from severe damage due to low oil and overheating by automatically reducing RPM.

CORROSION PROTECTION SYSTEM

• A patented 'double sealed' multi-layered paint process. Sacrificial anodes and stainless steel technology, along with waterproof connectors, all enhance corrosion protection.

FRESH WATER FLUSHPORT

• Flushes debris and saltwater out of the engine, extending the life of the outboard.

LONGER TILLER HANDLE

• The BF8 has a convenient longer tiller handle for increased control and reduced steering effort. The extended handle is also made of a new lightweight composite for increased durability and weight reduction.

UP FRONT TILLER CONTROLS

• The convenient Forward Mount Shift Lever allows fingertip shifting. Twist Grip Throttle and Tensioner allows for superior throttle friction control, minimising driver fatigue.

EZ STEER FRICTION CONTROL

• Unique lever design allows operator to precisely adjust steering tension for improved control.

SHALLOW WATER DRIVE

• Allows you to run in shallow water. Reduces the risk of engine damage.

INTEGRATED CARRYING HANDLE

• A convenient, foldaway carry handle is situated at the exact top/bottom balance point of the engine, so that the engine carries more easily in a level position.
